Meet the friendly, local Darebin residents who make up the Darebin Greens.
Whatever your skills, interests or time available, there's a place for you in our branch. Or if you'd prefer not to join the Greens, you're more than welcome to volunteer with our ongoing local campaign work.
CAMPAIGNSThe Darebin Greens are concerned about and active on a range of issues. We are currently running a local campaign on Climate Action and the need for a price on carbon pollution. Our Climate Action Campaign working group includes people who are new to the Greens, as well as some long term members. Alex is coordinating the overall campaign, while Monique coordinates our dedicated volunteers who deliver leaflets, display signs in their front yards, help staff stalls at community events, door-knock and anything else that needs doing.
Most volunteer tasks take only a couple of hours. |

FUNDRAISINGAs well as doing their day jobs in the union movement, public service and health sector, Meaghan, Sally and Julie lead a team that raises most of our campaign funds - mainly by organising events such as our annual garage sale, music gigs and social gatherings. |
THE DAREBIN BRANCHJeremy and Lucy, (Co-Convenors) and Ollie (Branch Secretary) keep the Darebin Branch of the Greens running, as well as doing their day jobs. The Darebin Greens meet on the first Wednesday of every month, 6.30-8.30 pm at Human Powered Cycles Café, 562 High St, Thornbury. Non-members are welcome to attend one meeting as an observer before joining, if they email the Secretary on darebinbranch@vic.greens.org.au beforehand. |
